EdLab Supersearch scaffolds adaptive educational experience across the EdLab product suite. The main problem this technology aims to solve is how to provide users with multimodal educational content from different data sources, and customize the content for different users and learning scenarios. I used an advanced search engine technology called Elasticsearch to aggregate and restructure product and user data from multiple EdLab projects, then deliver them to the user as a network of interconnected knowledge.
Several EdLab products have integrated Supersearch as a microservice to search for resources within the product.
But a more powerful application is to search for multimodal resources across many products.
Supersearch also provides different algorithms such as to recommend similar content for extended learning.
Currently I am leading the research and development of the machine learning component to be aggregated to the Supersearh so that the most relevant learning resources will be delivered according to the learning context and user profile.
